By October 31, 2025, Digital Tax Revenue to Reach IDR 43.75 Trillion

Jakarta – As of October 31, 2025, the government recorded revenue from the digital economy sector amounting to IDR 43.75 trillion, which came from the collection of Value Added Tax (VAT) on Electronic Trading (PMSE) of IDR 33.88 trillion,  tax  on  crypto  assets  of IDR 1.76  trillion,   fintech tax (peer-to-peer lending) of IDR 4.19 trillion, and taxes collected by other parties through the Government Procurement Information System (SIPP Tax) of IDR 3.92 trillion.

Director of Outreach, Services, and Public Relations (P2Humas) of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) Rosmauli revealed that as of October 31, 2025, of all appointed collectors, 207 PMSE had collected and deposited PMSE VAT totaling Rp 33.88 trillion.

"This amount consists of deposits of IDR 731.4 billion in 2020, IDR 3.9 trillion in 2021, IDR 5.51 trillion in 2022, IDR 6.76 trillion in 2023, Rp 8.44 trillion in 2024, and Rp 8.54 trillion by 2025," he stated in an official statement received by akp2i.co.id on Thursday (04/11).

He added that as of October 2025, the government has designated 251 companies as VAT collectors for PMSE.

“In that month, there were five new appointments, namely Notion Labs, Inc., Roblox Corporation, Mixpanel, Inc., MEGA Privacy Kft, and Scorpios Tech FZE. At the same time, the government also revoked the data of one VAT collector for digital services, namely Amazon Services Europe S.a.r.l.,” Rosmauli added.

Furthermore, crypto tax revenue has reached IDR 1.76 trillion as of October 2025.   These revenues came from Rp 246.45 billion in 2022, Rp 220.83 billion in 2023, Rp 620.4 billion in 2024, and Rp 675.6 billion in 2025. The crypto tax revenue consists of Rp 889.52 billion in Income Tax Article 22 and Rp 873.76 billion in Domestic Value Added Tax.

Furthermore, fintech taxes have also contributed Rp 4.19 trillion in tax revenue until October 2025. Revenue from fintech taxes came from Rp 446.39 billion in revenue in 2022, Rp 1.11 trillion in revenue in 2023, Rp 1.48 trillion in revenue in 2024, and Rp 1.15 trillion in revenue in 2025.

“The fintech tax consists of Income Tax Article 23 on loan interest received by WPDN and BUT amounting to IDR 1.16 trillion, Income Tax Article 26 on loan interest received by WPLN amounting to IDR 724.45 billion, and Domestic VAT on periodic deposits amounting to IDR 2.3 trillion,” he added.

Not only that, Rormauli also said that tax revenue from other digital economic businesses comes from SIPP tax revenue. Until October 2025, revenue from SIPP tax will amount to Rp 3.92 trillion. Revenue from SIPP tax came from Rp 402.38 billion in revenue in 2022, Rp 1.12 trillion in revenue in 2023, Rp 1.33 trillion in revenue in 2024, and Rp 1.07 trillion in revenue in 2025.   SIPP tax revenue consists of Income Tax Article 22 amounting to IDR 268.32 billion and VAT amounting to IDR 3.65 trillion.

“The realization of Rp 43.75 trillion confirms that the digital economy has become one of the important drivers of state revenue. The government will continue to optimize taxation in the digital sector to make it fairer, simpler, and more effective,” he concluded.
